Montreal Canadiens star Ivan Demidov sustained a preseason injury, the details of which were revealed by his agent.

Agent Dan Milstein revealed that Montreal Canadiens rookie Ivan Demidov has been sidelined due to a fractured ankle sustained in the preseason. Speaking on DFO Insider, Milstein explained that the 20-year-old forward attempted to play through the injury during the first two games of the season before discomfort prompted an MRI, which uncovered the fracture.
Demidov was placed on injured reserve and remains listed as week-to-week, though Milstein indicated that his client is approximately a couple of weeks away from returning to the ice. Writer Nestor Quixtan notes that while head coach Martin St. Louis's offense has depth, Demidov's return will be crucial to Montreal's offensive attack.
