A third period comeback saved Ottawa from a deflating end to the road trip.
Goaltender Samuel Ersson put in a standout performance as the Ottawa Senators rallied in the third period to defeat the Buffalo Sabres 2-1. Peyton Krebs opened the scoring for Buffalo in the second period off a Tage Thompson shot, but Ottawa mounted a late comeback to finish their road trip on a winning note.
Shane Pinto tied the game with eight minutes remaining by converting a rebound generated from Philip Tomasino's shot. Micheal Amadio then secured the victory with three minutes left in regulation, finishing off a rush orchestrated by Tim Stützle and Fabian Zetterlund.
