The Ottawa Senators have to be glad they didn't balk at trading Josh Norris when they had the chance to do it.

SenShot writer Nestor Quixtan argues that the Ottawa Senators made the right move trading Josh Norris to the Buffalo Sabres at the 2025 NHL trade deadline. In exchange, Ottawa acquired Dylan Cozens, who requested a trade after struggling in Buffalo. Since joining the Senators, Cozens has revitalized his career, recording a 28-goal campaign and continuing his productive form.
In contrast, Norris has struggled to establish himself in Buffalo due to recurring injuries and inconsistency. Demoted to third-line wing duty, he managed only two goals in 14 games this season. Secondary pieces from the trade included draft picks and players Dennis Gilbert and Jacob Bernard-Docker, who later signed elsewhere in free agency.
