The latest injury news from Chelsea as they prepare to face Premier League rivals Sunderland this weekend.

Chelsea could welcome back goalkeeper Emi Martinez for Sunday's Premier League match against Sunderland, though Reece James, Joao Pedro, and Maxence Lacroix are ruled out. Head coach Xabi Alonso confirmed James had knee surgery and will be sidelined for several weeks, while Pedro and Lacroix remain out until after the international break due to hamstring injuries.
Martinez returned to training on Wednesday after suffering a jaw injury against Everton. Midfielder Jordan Henderson and defender Jorrel Hato are also being assessed and are expected to be in contention to make Alonso's squad for the trip to the Stadium of Light.
