Evander Kane looks like to be done in the NHL, and is signing a deal to play in Russia and the KHL this coming season.

Evander Kane is reportedly preparing to leave North America to sign a contract in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League. His agent, Dan Milstein, revealed on the DFO Insider podcast that Kane will play in the KHL this season despite having opportunities in Canada and the United States. A deal is expected to be finalized this week, likely signaling the conclusion of the 35-year-old winger's 16-year NHL career.
Kane became an unrestricted free agent after recording 13 goals and 31 points in 71 games for the Vancouver Canucks, who acquired him from the Edmonton Oilers as a salary cap dump. NHL Trade Talk notes that Kane garnered limited NHL interest over the summer, citing his slowing production, injury history, and past off-ice controversies as obstacles to securing a new North American contract.
