Reality check for Villa in Barcelona

Aston Villa suffered a 3-0 defeat against Barcelona in the Champions League, highlighting the remaining gap to Europe's elite. Manager Unai Emery felt the final scoreline was harsh after Villa missed several first-half opportunities, though Barcelona dominated the second half.

Despite the loss, Villa remains well placed to qualify for the knockout phase after winning their opening three group matches. Emery's side faces Galatasaray later in the month before hosting reigning champions Paris St-Germain at Villa Park in December.
