The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant took to social media to endorse former teammate Jason Witten as the franchise's next head coach should Jerry Jones replace Brian Schottenheimer. The endorsement follows Dallas dropping to a 3-5 record after a 33-30 overtime defeat against Arizona. While Jones stated he is not considering a midseason coaching change, Bryant argued that the 11-time Pro Bowl tight end possesses the familiarity and leadership required for the role.

Witten currently serves as the interim offensive coordinator for the Oklahoma Sooners following the dismissal of Ben Arbuckle on November 2. Before moving to college football under Sooners head coach Brent Venables, Witten compiled a 26-1 record and won two state championships coaching at Liberty Christian School in Texas.
