Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. expressed optimism on Monday regarding his recovery from a lingering foot injury, stating that he has resumed running. Currently on injured reserve, Pittman revealed that what originally began as plantar fasciitis has morphed into a different foot issue. Although he does not have a definitive return date, he noted that he hopes to be back following the team's Week 9 bye.
Pittman also dismissed reports that surgery was ever considered, explaining that a surgical procedure would not resolve the issue. Before being placed on injured reserve, Pittman had caught seven passes for 89 yards across the regular season after initially hurting his foot during training camp.
