Austin didn’t bring Wynning play during his brief time with the Braves…

The Atlanta Braves acquired veteran catcher Austin Wynns via a cash-considerations trade with the Angels in June 2026 as temporary injury cover for Drake Baldwin and Sean Murphy. Wynns spent less than two weeks on the major league roster, batting 1-for-14 across six appearances before being granted free agency on June 16.
Wynns struggled both offensively and defensively during his brief tenure, posting a .071 batting average and -0.3 fWAR in Atlanta. After departing the Braves, Wynns played for the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs organizations, finishing 2026 with a career-worst 2 wRC+ and -0.7 overall fWAR across 89 plate appearances.
