Brisbane Heat ended a 706-day winless streak in the WBBL with a 14-run victory against the Adelaide Strikers at Drummoyne Oval. Charli Knott starred for the Heat, smashing 104 off 61 deliveries to power Brisbane to a total of 4-184. Adelaide replied with 5-170 from their 20 overs, falling short despite strong contributions from Laura Wolvaardt and Maddie Penna.
Wolvaardt made 75 and Penna scored 68 to keep Adelaide in contention during the chase. However, Brisbane's bowling attack held firm under pressure, led by spinners Sarah Glenn and Grace Harris, who took 2-19 each to secure the team's first victory since November 2024.
