Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a concussion during the team's Week 8 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, putting his availability for Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints in doubt. If Watson is unable to play, second-year quarterback Shedeur Sanders will reportedly start in his place.
Sanders made seven starts for the Browns in 2025 after falling to the fifth round of the draft, posting a 3-4 record with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. A potential start would see him face fellow 2025 draft pick Tyler Shough, who is currently starting for the Saints.
