The Cleveland Browns have long been the league’s little brother that other teams like to bully, especially in the AFC North. There have been times over the years when a player has tried to insert that missing level of fight…

Writer Thomas Moore argues that the Cleveland Browns are struggling to change their culture after players failed to defend their teammates during a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a concussion following a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jaquan Brisker, and defensive end Jared Verse was dropped on his head by Mason McCormick. In both instances, Moore highlighted that no Cleveland teammates stepped in to confront the Steelers players.
Verse openly expressed frustration over the lack of support, stating that the team must become more mentally aware and fight for one another. Teammates Carson Schwesinger, Quincy Williams, and Derek Barnett noted they did not see the incident involving Verse, though Barnett cautioned against letting retaliations get out of hand.
