Hussey joins Australia’s coaching ranks for 2027 Ashes, World Cup and 2028 T20 World Cup

Australia has appointed former batter Michael Hussey as a coaching consultant covering major upcoming campaigns, including the 2027 Ashes, the 2027 ODI World Cup, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and the 2028 T20 World Cup. Hussey turned down an offer to work alongside Stephen Fleming with England's Test setup to commit to Australia. His duties begin immediately with an upcoming T20I series against England.

Hussey's primary focus will involve guiding Australia's T20 setup, collaborating with assistant coach Andre Borovec, who will lead the team against England while head coach Andrew McDonald rests. Having previously contributed to England's 2022 T20 World Cup triumph and held roles with Chennai Super Kings, Hussey will also assist the Australian squad with Test preparations ahead of the New Zealand series in Perth.
