Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the Northern District of Texas federal court. According to court records, the 26-year-old playmaker reported more than $3.45 million in debts against $677,054 in total assets. More than $2.1 million of the owed sum stems from civil lawsuits, including a settled $1 million suit from a March 2024 car collision and an assault lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend.
Rice listed notable assets including his $160,000 Super Bowl LVIII ring, a $53,800 Mercedes-Benz, and $421,825 in deferred compensation, while declaring $39,241 as non-exempt. The filing comes during the final year of Rice's four-year rookie contract with Kansas City, where he earns a $1.6 million base salary in 2026 while battling ongoing hamstring and knee injuries.
