Besiktas manager Vincenzo Italiano expressed frustration after his side suffered a 3-2 Europa League defeat to Celtic in Glasgow. Italiano stated that his team practically gifted three goals to their opponents through soft defending and avoidable mistakes, resulting in the Turkish club's first defeat in the League Phase.
Besiktas had taken the lead in the second half and later equalized with five minutes remaining, but Celtic scored a late winner. Italiano apologized to supporters for throwing away vital points, urging his defense to regain the solidity they displayed earlier in the season.
