Former England defender Conor Coady has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33. The announcement was shared via an emotional Instagram video on Friday morning, just minutes before England manager Thomas Tuchel revealed his squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures.
Coady recently joined Lee Carsley's England Under-21 coaching staff in September after mutually parting ways with Wrexham on August 31. Over his career, Coady earned 10 caps for England, made 503 appearances across eight clubs including Wolves, Everton, and Leicester City, and featured in two major international tournaments.
