Barcelona are dealing with significant squad updates ahead of Sunday's top-of-the-table La Liga match against Atletico Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Defender Jules Kounde is practically ruled out after his ankle injury proved more complicated than expected, while midfielder Rodri will also miss the fixture due to a hamstring problem.
Meanwhile, defenders Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen are progressing through individual recovery programs as they await medical clearance. Frenkie de Jong is reportedly pushing for a starting role for Hansi Flick's side, while opponents Atletico Madrid will be without defender Cristian Romero.
