The Story in 60 Seconds

Spanish opposition leader Alberto Nunez Feijoo has urged Spain to withdraw from co-hosting the 2030 World Cup if FIFA awards the final to Morocco. Spain, Portugal, and Morocco are set to co-host the centenary tournament alongside three opening games in South America. Speaking to El Chiringuito TV, Feijoo argued that the final rightfully belongs to Spain and the nation should not let itself be humiliated.

FIFA has not yet confirmed the venue for the final fixture. While Spain has strong venue candidates in the renovated Santiago Bernabeu and Camp Nou, Morocco is campaigning for the planned 115,000-capacity Grand Stade Hassan II in Casablanca to stage the match.
