The Hamilton Hammers announced on Friday morning that they have signed forwards Robby Fabbri and Antonio Stranges to professional tryout contracts (PTOs). The roster additions come as the team attempts to overcome a difficult 3-8-2 start to their inaugural season, which has been compounded by an injury to Cole Eiserman and Mitchell Chaffee remaining in the NHL.
Fabbri, a 30-year-old veteran with 463 NHL appearances, recorded five points in 21 games across stints with the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild last season. Stranges, 24, joins Hamilton after previously appearing in 208 AHL games with the Texas Stars, where he posted 34 points in 70 games during the previous campaign.
