The Nuggets were right to trade Peyton Watson. They could have been facing some of the same issues the Cavs are going through.

David Decker of Nugg Love argues that the Denver Nuggets avoided major issues by trading Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Watson signed a four-year, $88 million contract with Cleveland but has struggled early in the season, shooting just 37.1% from the field and 16.7% from three-point range over his first six games.
The writer notes that the Cavaliers are 16.8 points better per 100 possessions with Watson off the court. Decker highlights that Denver retained Cameron Johnson and acquired rookie Trevon Brazile alongside an unprotected 2031 first-round pick, concluding the trade benefited the Nuggets.
