NHL Rumours: Montreal Canadiens Showcasing Adam Engstrom

NHL insider Darren Dreger reported on TSN690 that the Montreal Canadiens may be showcasing young defenseman Adam Engstrom for potential trades. Dreger noted that Engstrom recently drew into head coach Martin St. Louis's lineup over Arber Xhekaj in what appeared to be a showcase situation. Dreger also indicated that Engstrom would likely be part of any potential trade package if a deal for Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin ever materialized.

Writer Lori Bennett notes that Montreal holds substantial depth on the left side of defense, featuring players like Lane Hutson, Mike Matheson, and Kaiden Guhle. With the Canadiens actively seeking roster upgrades, including top-six forward help or Detroit defenseman Simon Edvinsson, Dreger also reported that forward Kirby Dach's name has circulated in ongoing trade discussions.
