The back-rower is a Leopard again!

Australian back-rower Kai O'Donnell has officially finalized a permanent return to Leigh Leopards ahead of the 2027 season, following a two-year stint in the NRL with North Queensland Cowboys. The 27-year-old previously made 77 appearances and scored 31 tries for Leigh between 2022 and 2024, helping the club lift the Challenge Cup in 2023 under head coach Adrian Lam.
O'Donnell expressed his excitement about reuniting with Lam and the club, stating he jumped at the chance to return. A move had nearly occurred before the 2026 deadline before breaking down. He becomes Leigh's third confirmed signing for 2027, joining Jack Purtill and Tevita Pangai Jr.
