Just like the big club did in Ottawa, the Belleville Senators have turned to a veteran defenceman to lead the team this season.

The Belleville Senators, the AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, named veteran defenseman Scott Harrington the seventh captain in franchise history on Friday. The 33-year-old takes over the leadership role following the departure of Garrett Pilon, who signed with KHL club Nur-Sultan Barys. Harrington is scheduled to debut with the captain's 'C' against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at CIBC Place.
Harrington brings extensive experience to the role, having appeared in nearly 255 NHL games and over 300 AHL games. In his second season with Belleville, he served as an alternate captain last season and previously captained the London Knights in junior hockey.
