Flyers Fans Begin Mounting Furious Protest Against Head Coach Rick Tocchet

Philadelphia Flyers supporters have launched a public campaign demanding the dismissal of head coach Rick Tocchet following a dismal start to the 2026-27 season. Prominent fan Tony Escargot initiated a fundraiser on Friday to fly a "Fire Rick Tocchet" banner over the arena during a game against the Vancouver Canucks on November 27. The initial $2,000 target was met within an hour, leading organizers to raise an expanded $4,000 to also fund an anti-Tocchet billboard on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia.

The demonstration comes amid intense frustration over Philadelphia's struggles, with the team currently ranking 30th in the NHL with a 4-10-4 record and going winless against divisional rivals at 0-4-3. Additional funds collected beyond the primary goals are pledged to be donated to Snider Hockey and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, as fan pressure on the front office continues to intensify.
