Minnesota Timberwolves center Joan Beringer suffered a nasal fracture and exited the game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Beringer was struck with an elbow to the face while shooting free throws, causing his nose to bleed. He was subsequently ruled out of the contest after recording two points and three rebounds in seven minutes of play.
Beringer serves as the primary backup to Rudy Gobert, averaging 6.2 points and 6.9 rebounds over nine games this season. Veteran Trey Lyles is expected to step up in the Timberwolves' frontcourt if Beringer misses time ahead of their upcoming eight-game home stand starting against the Utah Jazz.
