Jayson Tatum accomplished something no other Celtics legend was able to during a blowout victory over the Hornets on Friday night.

Jayson Tatum set a franchise record during the Boston Celtics' 119-80 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. The NBA Cup Group Play matchup saw Tatum become the first player in Celtics history to record 34 points, eight rebounds, nine assists, and a plus-36 rating in fewer than 30 minutes of action.
Now fully recovered from a torn Achilles sustained in 2025, Tatum is averaging 27.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 8.0 assists this season. Dave Ettinger notes that Boston relies heavily on Tatum, with new teammate Paul George displaying inconsistent scoring despite remaining healthy.
