Luka Dončić delivered a stellar 53-point performance to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to an NBA Cup victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Dončić scored 20 points in the third quarter alone and made a crucial late jumper to secure Los Angeles' fourth consecutive win. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 119-95, holding former star LeBron James to just eight points in his return to Cleveland.
James struggled from the field, converting only three of 12 shots, marking just the 10th single-digit scoring game of his 24-year regular-season career. Elsewhere across NBA Cup action, Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics in a 119-80 blowout of the Charlotte Hornets, while Victor Wembanyama posted 30 points and 14 rebounds in the San Antonio Spurs' 124-109 win over the Sacramento Kings.
