Canucks prospect Aleksei Medvedev traded to the Peterborough Petes in the OHL

The London Knights have traded Vancouver Canucks goaltending prospect Aleksei Medvedev to the Peterborough Petes. In exchange for the 19-year-old goaltender, the Knights received three draft selections: a 2028 second-round pick, a 2027 third-round pick, and a 2030 fifth-round pick. Medvedev reportedly requested a trade after London recently acquired goaltender Arvin Jaswal from the Barrie Colts.

Drafted by Vancouver in 2025, Medvedev posted a 3.43 goals against average and a .891 save percentage across eight games this season. In Peterborough, Medvedev joins fellow Canucks prospect Adam Novotný and will compete for playing time alongside goaltenders Matthew Koprowski, Owen Nelson, and Masen Johnston.
