Andreas Hountondji reflects on his first Burnley goal, Nicky Hayen’s departure and Fabio Celestini’s start before the Cardiff City clash.
Burnley striker Andreas Hountondji admitted that scoring his first goal for the club left him with a "weird feeling" because it came during a defeat against Lincoln that resulted in head coach Nicky Hayen losing his job. Hountondji noted that while he was pleased to score after an unexpected start, the result and subsequent managerial dismissal overshadowed the milestone.
The 24-year-old forward stated that players must share the blame for poor results rather than solely holding the manager responsible. Burnley has since appointed Fabio Celestini, who recorded two draws in his first two games, ahead of their upcoming fixture against Cardiff City.
