D’Andre Swift’s line from Monday night in Seattle looked like two different games. He had 27 carries for 69 yards, 2.6 yards per carry, and no run longer than seven yards. He also scored three touchdowns. That’s been Swift’s season…

Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift has taken over short-yardage and goal-line duties, scoring 10 rushing touchdowns through eight games this season. After scoring three touchdowns on 27 carries against the Seattle Seahawks, Swift is nearing the franchise single-season rushing touchdown record of 14, currently shared by Walter Payton and Gale Sayers.
Swift's goal-line role increased following an injury to Kyle Monangai, accounting for seven touchdowns over the last four games. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson noted that while Swift's efficiency has dipped alongside team rushing totals, the Bears remain committed to utilizing his short-yardage capabilities while monitoring his heavy workload.
