Golden State Warriors legend Chris Mullin praised rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, stating that the forward has already changed the trajectory of the franchise. Speaking to Raul Barrigon of HoopsHype, Mullin noted that Lendeborg's high-level play has shifted expectations while teammates Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody recover from injuries. Mullin also projected Lendeborg could earn an All-Star selection as a rookie and develop into an All-NBA caliber talent.
Through nine games, Lendeborg has averaged 21.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, helping Golden State build a six-game winning streak and a 6-3 record. His performance places him second in NBA.com's Rookie Ladder behind Cameron Boozer of the Memphis Grizzlies, as Lendeborg became just the sixth player in NBA history to record at least 100 points, 40 rebounds, and 20 assists over his first five games.
