Gian Piero Gasperini admits Roma ‘are in the mix’ for the Scudetto race after thumping Sassuolo 3-0, and ‘even when we lost, we still scored lots of goals’ against Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini stated that his team is in the Serie A title race following a 3-0 victory against Sassuolo on November 7, 2026. The win at the Stadio Olimpico came via goals from Mario Hermoso, Donyell Malen, and Rodrigo Mora, rebounding quickly after a 3-2 midweek Champions League defeat to Manchester United.
Gasperini defended his side's recent form, noting strong displays despite blowing leads against both Manchester United and Real Madrid. He praised Roma's attacking sharpness and acknowledged that while Inter remain title favorites, Roma and other contenders are ready to challenge if the leaders slip up.
