Trail Blazers coach Micah Nori shares encouraging news about Ja Morant's hamstring injury before the Spurs game Saturday.

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Micah Nori announced that guard Ja Morant's hamstring injury might not be as extensive as initially feared. Speaking ahead of Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs, Nori shared that a doctor in Los Angeles provided a positive outlook following an evaluation. Morant suffered a Grade 2 left hamstring strain on October 29 against the Memphis Grizzlies, which initially projected a minimum four-week absence.
While the Trail Blazers have not established an official revised return timeline, the evaluation suggests Morant could return sooner than anticipated. Portland acquired Morant in a June trade that sent Jerami Grant and Kris Murray to Memphis. With Morant sidelined alongside Shaedon Sharpe and Vit Krejci, the team will rely heavily on Jrue Holiday and Scoot Henderson in the interim.
