The Story in 60 Seconds

The NFL announced disciplinary fines on November 7 against Las Vegas Raiders defensive back Jeremy Chinn and New York Jets guard Joe Tippman following their Week 8 game. Chinn received a $17,911 fine for unnecessary roughness after hitting a defenseless player, receiver Garrett Wilson, in the fourth quarter. The hit left Wilson with a concussion that sidelines him for Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tippman was fined $12,537 for unnecessary roughness due to an unflagged illegal low block during the first quarter. Chinn has the option to appeal his standard first-offense fine, which also counts as one strike toward a potential one-game suspension.
