The Vancouver Whitecaps concluded their regular season with a 2-0 victory against CF Montreal at Stade Saputo on Saturday. Cheikh Sabaly opened the scoring five minutes into the second half, and Mihail Gherasimencov added an 83rd-minute goal past Montreal goalkeeper Samsy Keita to seal the win for Vancouver.
The result confirmed CF Montreal finished dead last in MLS following a tiebreaker with Sporting Kansas City, capping a difficult campaign under interim manager Philippe Eullaffroy. Meanwhile, the Whitecaps secured first place in the Western Conference with 64 points, with manager Jesper Sørensen setting a new MLS record of 127 points across his first two seasons.
