Unheralded Flyers Prospect Has Taken a Massive Leap Forward

The Hockey News highlights Philadelphia Flyers prospect Max Westergard as a rising talent who is taking significant strides overseas. Selected 132nd overall in the fifth round of the 2025 NHL Draft, the 19-year-old Finnish winger has emerged as a key contributor for Swedish club Frolunda HC this season.

Westergard has registered 10 points in 16 SHL games, after going scoreless in 18 appearances during the previous campaign. He also leads all SHL draft-plus-two skaters in scoring, outproducing several higher-drafted peers while establishing himself as a potential late-round steal for the Flyers.
