The Lakers will be without the driving force of their offense against one of the best defenses in the NBA to start their four-game road trip.
Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Dončić has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Detroit Pistons due to lower back tightness. After initially being listed as questionable, Dončić was officially downgraded to out for the road matchup at Little Caesars Arena, marking his second missed game of the season.
The injury designation follows Dončić's 53-point performance on Friday night, when he led the Lakers to a 124-118 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. The Lakers, coached by JJ Redick, enter the contest seeking their fifth consecutive win as they begin a four-game road trip.
