Aiden McGeady accepts it comes with the territory of being a Hoops figurehead and 'embarrassing' display is a far bigger problem

Celtic captain Callum McGregor has faced criticism from supporters after being caught on camera gesturing "no more goals" during a 3-0 defeat to Rangers. The incident occurred in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final at Ibrox after Dan Neil scored Rangers' third goal. Former Celtic player Aiden McGeady stated that the criticism comes with the territory of being the team's leader.
McGeady described Celtic's performance in the match as "embarrassing," passive, and slow on the ball. He highlighted tactical issues, noting that the gaps between McGregor and midfielders Benjamin Nygren and Felix Baur left the captain overrun. McGeady added that Celtic was fortunate not to lose by five or six goals given Rangers' hunger and dominance.
