Four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr has advised British boxer Conor Benn to pursue a lucrative two-fight plan before retiring. The advice follows Benn's second-round knockout defeat to Ryan Garcia in a WBC welterweight title challenge on Saturday. Jones Jr suggested Benn should target a matchup against UFC superstar Conor McGregor before concluding his career with a trilogy bout against rival Chris Eubank Jr.
Benn is expected to move up in weight to campaign at middleweight or super-middleweight following his recent loss. However, a potential fight with McGregor faces obstacles as the MMA star is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in July. Meanwhile, Benn has reportedly already been offered a world title opportunity in a new weight class.
