Matchroom Boxing's Frank Smith has discussed the ongoing negotiations for a heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Despite contracts reportedly being signed, the venue for the highly anticipated bout remains a major point of contention. Smith noted that time is running short to properly promote and stage the fight before the end of the year.
Smith also addressed recent criticism from UFC CEO Dana White toward promoter Eddie Hearn. He dismissed White's comments as frustration over having no involvement in the matchup. Smith reiterated that Matchroom and Joshua have signed for the fight to take place in the UK and expressed hope for an official announcement soon.
