Formula 1 and the FIA have unveiled the official calendar for the 2027 season.

Formula 1 and the FIA have unveiled the official 24-race calendar for the 2027 season, expanding sprint events from six to ten. Among the notable additions, the Monaco Grand Prix will feature a sprint race weekend format for the first time in its history. Vincent Bruins argues that holding a sprint event at Monte Carlo is a positive change for racing fans despite traditional concerns over overtaking.
Bruins explains that because overtaking is notoriously difficult in Monaco, qualifying represents the weekend's primary highlight. He highlights that the sprint format introduces two high-pressure qualifying sessions instead of low-stakes practice runs, requiring drivers to deliver under maximum pressure for both Saturday's sprint and Sunday's main event.
