Breaking: Barcelona sporting director announces “agreement in principle” for star player’s new contract

Barcelona sporting director Deco has confirmed that the club has reached an agreement in principle to extend the contract of star attacker Raphinha. The Brazilian forward is set to sign a new long-term deal that will run until June 2030, adding four more years to his stay at the club. Raphinha has been in exceptional form under manager Hansi Flick, recording 11 goals and three assists in seven appearances this season.

In addition to Raphinha, Barcelona has also reportedly agreed to a new long-term contract with young midfielder Marc Bernal. The home-grown talent is expected to sign a deal valid until June 2031, which includes a salary rise. The agreements represent a significant step for Barcelona as they secure key squad members despite their ongoing financial challenges.
