Ex-FIFA ref: Rangers player lucky to avoid sanction vs Celtic, officials should have intervened

Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin was fortunate to avoid a booking during his side's 1-0 victory over Celtic, according to former FIFA referee Keith Hackett. The 25-year-old Belgian put in a strong performance to help manager Derek McInnes' side secure the win, which was decided by a first-half goal from Ryan Naderi.

The controversy arose in the 11th minute when Raskin kicked the ball directly at Celtic's Camilo Duran while Duran was lying on the ground. Hackett stated that Raskin should have received at least a yellow card for unsporting behavior, noting that the assistant referee or fourth official should have intervened since VAR could not get involved under the protocol.
