Bobby Madden questions John Beaton after major Celtic vs Rangers call

Former referee Bobby Madden has questioned referee John Beaton's decision not to issue a second yellow card to Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez during Celtic's 1-0 defeat on Sunday. Fernandez, who was booked in the fourth minute, challenged Benjamin Nygren in the 16th minute, but Beaton allowed play to continue without awarding a free-kick or a second caution.

Madden explained that the challenge stopped a promising attack and should have resulted in a second yellow card and subsequent dismissal. Because VAR protocols do not allow video assistant referee Nick Walsh to intervene on missed second yellow cards, the decision on the pitch stood.
