Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has stated that Lionel Messi should win the Ballon d'Or every year until he retires. Romero, who recently completed a £34.2 million transfer to Atletico Madrid, praised his longtime Argentina teammate, claiming that there is no other player like him in the sport.
Messi recently retired from international football after Argentina's 1-0 defeat to Spain in the World Cup final, where he scored eight goals. The 39-year-old currently plays for Inter Miami, where he has recorded 24 goals and 14 assists in 28 appearances this season.
