Sky reporter shares Liverpool sporting director update as FSG consider raid on high-flying PL club

Liverpool are actively working to fill their vacant sporting director role following Richard Hughes' departure to Al-Hilal. According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are seriously considering former sporting director Julian Ward for the position. Anfield officials are also exploring the possibility of making multiple appointments to build a collaborative recruitment structure.

FSG are reportedly investigating whether to hire an external executive to work alongside Ward, with Brentford technical director Lee Dykes discussed as a prospective candidate. Internal candidates David Woodfine and Pedro Marques have also been linked to the process as serious discussions continue at multiple levels within Liverpool.
