Colin Ingram, 41, retires from professional cricket

Former South Africa international Colin Ingram has announced his retirement from professional cricket at the age of 41. The batter confirmed his decision in a social media statement on Tuesday, concluding a professional career that spanned over 20 years. Ingram most recently represented Glamorgan against Warwickshire and could make his final appearance against Essex.

Ingram made his domestic debut in 2004-05 and represented South Africa in 31 ODIs and nine T20Is between 2010 and 2013 before thriving as a global T20 franchise player. Following his retirement as a player, Ingram confirmed he intends to transition into a coaching career.
