Fresh discussion about Farhad Moshiri and Everton has prompted questions over whether the club’s former majority shareholder could ever return. Moshiri’s eight-year spell as owner ended in December 2024 when The Friedkin Group completed its takeover. Almost two years later…

Former majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is considered highly unlikely to make a return to Everton following renewed fan discussion. Moshiri's eight-year tenure as owner concluded in December 2024 when The Friedkin Group (TFG) finalized its takeover of a 98.8 percent stake in the club after receiving Premier League approval.
Financial hurdles and debt structures make any potential return extremely improbable. Moshiri reportedly sustained losses of around £750 million during his ownership, and Everton has since obtained £350 million in 30-year stadium financing. Any takeover would require Premier League clearance, and there is currently no evidence that Moshiri intends to return.
