Kylian Mbappe explains rejecting Liverpool transfer despite his mum urging him to sign

Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he held transfer talks with Liverpool in 2017 while playing for Monaco, even meeting manager Jurgen Klopp aboard a private jet over Nice. Despite his mother and agent, Fayza Lamari, urging him to move to Anfield, Mbappe decided against the Premier League club to sign for Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe completed an initial loan move to PSG that featured a mandatory £165.7 million purchase option. The forward explained that he preferred remaining in his home country to establish his career and become a star in his hometown of Paris rather than moving abroad at that stage.
