Gore battles, but Rangers’ miscues loom large in AL West race

Following the loss and the Houston Astros' 7-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners, Texas is now tied with Houston for first place in the division. However, the Astros currently hold the tiebreaker over the Rangers. Manager Skip Schumaker noted after the game that uncharacteristic defensive miscues cost the team rather than nerves.
